Eliminations 1st Round

OA81 Simon Barlow   v   OA88 Colin Millar

This race was a rematch of the first round of 2009 at the Big Bang, no problems for Simon this time taking the win 9.65/146mph to Colin's 10.70/125mph

OA3 Rob Stone   V  OA84 Dave Sidaway

Dave had a tenth advantage away from the tree that he'd increased to nearly half a second by mid-track, Rob then slowed posting 10.99/92mph, Dave kept his foot in winning the round & smashing his pb. 9.695/139.97mph

OA7 Cliff Griffin   v   OA344 Ray Guy

Ray had his race day setup in the car & was away first minus the big wheelie, Cliff passed at 200ft then pulled away 8.92/148mph, to Ray's 9.95/131mph

OA82 Richard Colby   -   bye

Richard doing enough to give him lane choice in the semi 9.10/148mph.

Semi-Finals

OA7 Cliff Griffin   v   OA81 Simon Barlow

Simon was out of the blocks first but had some traction issues, Cliff was level at 60ft both cars were then pretty evenly matched Cliffs blown alky power having 2 tenths edge at the finish 9.07/138mph to Simon's 9.52/143mph

OA82 Richard Colby   v   OA84 Dave Sidaway

This one was Richard all the way 9.01/152mph, to Dave's 10.00/137mph

Final

OA82  Richard Colby  v  OA7 Cliff Griffin

A real humdinger of a final, I'm sure we'll see this pair battling it out all season long. Richard had 2 tenths off the tree but was soon struggling to apply the power, Cliff passed him at about 300ft then pulled away. Richard backed off from about 3/4 track when Cliff couldn't be caught slowing to 10.88/85mph, Cliff's winning time 9.47/127mph

Congratulations to Cliff & team for on their first event win since 2001, also to Dave & Colin for new p.b.'s

Thanks to organisers for inviting us along to the event & to the track staff & marshals.
