Rob launched hard & high but had to back out of it, leaving Cliff munching the icing, with a winning 10.86/123mph. OA37 Dale Giles v OA76 Rick HooperHaving been paired up in the earlier qualifying session, Rick knew all too well what he was up against, or did he? Dale got out of the hole better than ever, storming to a personal best of 9.03/162mph. Smashing 4-tenths off the pb. set earlier, making 8-tenths off, over the weekend. Rick lost out with a valiant 11.20/120mph, that's one super quick street car. OA3 Jeff Meads v OA65 Gary McCormackAfter two fierce burnouts, Gary ran his best time of the weekend 10.84/124mph, but it wasn't enough to beat the Mighty Meads on a charge 9.37/150mph.
1st Round SPORTSMANOA62 Chris Kitto v OA51 Mike CallanMike got the hole-shot on Chris to take the win with 12.93/110mph on a 12.50 Dial-in, to Chris's loose-out 11.78/116mph on a 11.40 Dial-in OA25 Pete Moore v OA64 Graham RawlingsPete Had been suffering transbrake problems over the weekend. His only qualifier was also a piece of Outlaw Anglia history, he & Gary McCormack in our 1st ever Fordson v Fordson match-up, a great sight. With not much data to go on he dialled-in 10.00 & ran 10.33/122mph, not close enough to cover Graham Rawlings 13.41/97mph on a 13.20 dial-in. OA44 Martyn Payne v OA52 Matt CooperMartyn still finding his feet with his new motor, dialled-in 12.00 & ran 12.79/108mph. Matt Cooper had the better of him however, dialling-in 13.80 & running 14.01
Semi-Final PROA late rain shower sent most packing, but the marshals did a fine mop-up job allowing us to run the semi-final of the Pro cars OA19 Paul Hensher v OA1 Cliff GriffinPaul was on a charge, putting in his quickest pass of the weekend, to win the round & clinch the fastest Anglia trophy 8.81/154mph. to Cliff's 11.04 / 101mph OA37 Dale Giles v OA3 Jeff MeadsOn paper looked to be a good one, Dale was itching for an "8" after his last pass of 9.03 & Jeff had run a brace of low 9's. Dale got another good start & was out in front a 2/3 track, when the motor let go in a huge cloud of smoke. His car made move to the right & crossed the centre-line, as oil got onto a slick, Jeff took avoiding action & was first on the scene, extinguisher in hand when they both came to rest. Dale would like to thank the Jeff & the FAST team for their prompt actions. Back in the pits, the bottom half of an errant rod was found poking out of a hole in the sump, OH bugger! On the up side the 60ft & mid track times were best ever. Thanks To Alan Martin & the NSRA for including us in this extremely popular event. Best wishes to Mark Needham & team. |
