OA 2 Rob Stone Kicked a rod out during his first burnout, hopefully this wont keep him out too long. Sunday 30th June12:00 Session PROOA19 Paul Hensher v OA56 BloompySomewhat of a "baptism of fire" for Bloompy, but those is the breaks. Paul won with a 8.62/164.8mph to a loose out 14.12/107.6mph OA25 Pete Moore v OA62 Chris KittoPete's mph was down in qualifying yesterday, the problem was still present in this pass, but an 11.20/96.1mph was enough to cover Chris's street tyred 11.97/115.9mph OA5 Bob Hancox v OA73 Brian NixonBob Hancox was giving his alky injection setup one final go this weekend, getting a handle on it this time with the assistance of Phil Cornish, by this the 5th pass of the weekend they had it running like a bracket car 10.29/133.9mph. Brian also was running pretty consistently but backed out of this once winning this the battle of the prefects was out of reach 14.32/88.4mph OA1 Cliff Griffin v O63 Martin DavisonCliff Griffin seasoned campaigner & current Outlaw Anglia champion must have been a daunting prospect for Rookie Martin, but he put in a good effort with 12.10/111.5mph to Cliff's winning 10.20/131.9mph
14:00 Session SPORTSMANOA62 Chris Kitto v OA51 Mike CallanChris Kitto dialled-in 11.80 but broke-out with a personal best of 11.75/116.5mph, Mike also ran a personal best of 13.013 / 104.9mph but this time on the right side of a 13.00 dial-in . Good work for his 1st drag race !! OA63 Martin Davidson v OA66 SqueakyMartin dialled-in 11.80 but found some extra traction giving him a personal best of 11.71/123.2 but putting him out, Squeaky on the other hand was getting into the swing of it with a 13.30/108.9mph on a 13.00 dial-in. OA53 Brian Nixon v OA52 Matt CooperAnother Personal Best, another Break out, this time Matt Cooper went under with 13.69/100.6mph on a 13.80 dial-in to Brian's slick 12.309/96.3mph on a 12.30 Dial-in
14:00 Session PROOA19 Paul Hensher v OA25 Pete MoorePaul decided to add a drop of nitrous to the already awesome Gas Attack car, The excellent track took the power well Paul ran 8.33/166mph to achieve a personal best & a new Outlaw Anglia track record. Pete's Fordson left well but he lifted at 100ft running 10.97/115.5mph OA1 Cliff Griffin v OA5 Bob HancoxOn paper looked to be the closest race of the weekend the previous round the pair ran within 3 hundredths of a second. Both cars did strong burn-outs then the fun started, Bob went into pre-stage closely followed by Cliff but neither wanted to be the first to stage, Scottie the starter motioned them forward twice before discarding the button & walking away!, fortunately he returned (i suspect to bulb them) Bob realising this dipped into stage then Cliff. Then ... Nothing Scottie had them in stage for a good 6 seconds before Activating the tree. Bob Got away first but Cliff drove round him taking the win by 8 hundredths, with a personal best of 10.16/133.9mph to Bobs 10.25/133.5mph. Great Race guys & Thanks Scottie!
15:30 Session SportsmanOA51 Mike Callan v ByeMike was still unable to dip into the 12's running 13.04/103.5mph OA53 Brian Nixon v OA66 SqueakyThis race was over before it started, Brian suffering a flat battery in the staging lanes putting squeaky through with a bogging 15.00/85.5mph
15:30 Session ProOA19 Paul Hensher v OA1 Cliff GriffinPaul was on a charge, a fantastic rolling burnout across the start-line had the crowd on their feet. Cliff also smoked'em to full effect. Paul must have heard about Cliffs stat-line antics, going into stage at the earliest opportunity. The ambers lit & they were Away, again the track prep held Paul's nitrous assisted 8.36/165mph to Cliff's Runner-up 10.47/110.5mph
16:30 Session SportsmanOA51 Mike Callan v OA66 SqueakyUnfortunately a big oil-down & a spattering of rain put pay to this match-up in the fire-up road. Thanks to Alan Martin & the NSRA, plus the APIRA & FAST for yet another brilliant weekend. Paul Hensher picked up the Quickest Anglia trophy 8.32/166mph a full second quicker than at last years NSRA Hot Rod Drags. Superb!! |
