Ray Guy won the Moving Parts Reaction time challenge Bloompy & Sqeaky's Caddy motor "let-go" big time, putting a rod out the sump about 330 ft into their 1st qualifier. Rob Stone had some Issues with his motor during the warm-up & decided to investigate further. 1st RoundOA14 Ian Norman v OA344 Ray Guy Ray, this events reaction time winner, left on Ian by a tenth, Ian passed him at 300ft to post a winning 9.12/143mph. Ray's time 9.82/135mph OA16 Peter Ashworth v OA 54 Bob HancoxPete had been gradually leaning his newly rebuilt motor throughout the weekend 8.72/154mph was another step in the right direction. Bob's first competitive outing in the superb new Prefect ended in this round with a 10.75/120mph. OA1 Paul Wright v OA 81 Simon BarlowAfter an eventful qualifying day with only 1 full pass the Guv Drag Racing team were hoping to have ironed out all the bugs a 7.86/179mph showed they were back on track. Simon continued with his new motor set-up posting 11.56/117mph. Semi-Finals OA1 Paul Wright v OA14 Ian Norman 7.70/184mph for Paul took the win over Ian's 9.37/138mph OA16 Peter Ashworth v OA 82 Richard Colby Richard suffered broken blower pulley fixings during the first round & was unable to continue. Pete ran a solo 8.74/154mph to progress to the final. Final OA1 Paul Wright v OA16 Peter Ashworth The final was a 2-part affair, a timing system issue at the first attempt, resulted in a thrash to turn-round the cars before the curfew. With minutes to spare the lights went green Pete laid down a stunning 8.27/164mph (p.b.) by adding a shot of nitrous. Paul however hsd it covered with a 7.79/180mph to take the event win. |
