sneaked in under the wire.

Reaction Time Challenge for the 3rd time this season
1st Round
OA1 Paul Wright
V OA86 Barry Woodford
The air was good at around 5:30 pm Sat afternoon & for Paul everything
worked well producing a p.b. & the quickest Outlaw Anglia pass 7.400/189
mph to take the win over Barry's 12.80/92mph
This round win secured the 2007 Outlaw Anglia Championship for the Guv racing
team for the 3rd season in a row.
OA81 Simon Barlow v OA 84 Dave Sidaway
This close pairing was lost on the startline with Simon going red by a couple
of hundreths on his way to a 10.18/131mph, Dave took the win 10.14/132mph
OA22 Rob Stone v OA54 Bob Hancox
Bob made it into the field in the last qualifying session after starter motor
problems & ran 10.71/125mph Rob had this well covered progressing to
round 2 with a 9.23/142mph
OA14 Ian Norman v OA 85 Mick Donohoe
Ian stepped up his tune for the 1st round running a new p.b.
9.094/145mph to Micks's 10.72/123mph
OA16 Pete Ashworth v OA74 Steve Harrison
On the other side of the ladder Pete was also making the most of the good air
7.861/172mph p.b. to Steve's 11.85/121mph in the Anxious
gasser.
This Round win secured the runner-up position in the 2007 Outlaw Anglia
Championship for Pete Ashworth
OA80 Al O'Connor v OA60 Dean White
Al has been suffering with some handling issues in the famous Al's Gasser
however his
10.73/104mph was good enough to cover Deans 11.83/103mph when his
stream of laughing gas slowed to a snigger.
OA82 Richard Colby v OA271 Chris Kenny
Chris cut a good light as ever but his 10.74/123mph was no match for
Richards 9.15/151mph
OA344 Ray Guy v OA70 Mark Bracking
Another cherry in this round this time picked by Mark Bracking on his way to
a 10.35/132mph. Ray progressed with a 10.23/124mph
2nd Round
OA1 Paul Wright v OA 84 Dave Sidaway
Paul was looking to back-up his 7.40 but the track didn't hold the AlcoPops
power as well as yesterday, having to get out off the pedal a couple of times to
avoid crossing the centre-line 8.40/157mph to a storming run from Dave
squeezing a 10.01/136mph p.b. from the normally aspirated Fordson.
OA22 Rob Stone v OA14 Ian Norman
Both drivers were up for this close match-up & ran p.b.s 9.16/145mph
for Rob but Ian & the Popeye team progressed with their 1st eight
8.98/152mph, well done guys.
OA16 Pete Ashworth v OA80 Al O'Connor
Pete ran through without gas on this pass 8.70/157mph to Al's
11.72/179mph
OA82 Richard Colby
v OA344 Ray Guy
Richard & team have been trying to pinpoint a lack of power over the
season & it looks like their making progress 9.00/153mph a new p.b. to beat
Rays slowing
17.67/41mph, latter inspection showed some cam & valve train damage to
Shorty's Hotrod
Semi-Final
OA1 Paul Wright v OA14 Ian
Norman
Ian was away first but by 100ft he could taste the alky fumes as the blown
Chevy came alongside 9.58/151mph for Ian to Guv's winning
7.58/186mph
OA16 Pete Ashworth v OA82
Richard Colby
This race was all about one car & it wasn't the winner Richard Colby smashed
into the eights for the 1st time 8.47/159mph p.b. after bypassing
his nitrous controller. Pete had more of a race than he'd banked on but was on
his game & went through 8.25/161mph
Final
OA1 Paul Wright v OA16 Pete Ashworth
Guv was focussed on his last opportunity to back up the 7.40 from
yesterday, unfortunately too focused & left early handing the win to Pete, at
the other end also missed out on backing up the record by two hundredths of a
second 7.49/187mph. Pete & the Dayglo Twister 4 team picked up their
second consecutive event win with a 9.05/150mph
Thanks to the track crew for keeping the action flowing well
