Eliminations 1st Round

OA1 Paul Wright  -   bye

Paul had too many rpm on the launch & had to lift to correct, running 8.70/171mph

OA5  Rob Stone   v   OA84 Dave Sidaway

Dave was on a high after sorting out a nitrous problem & running down into the nines for the first time. Dave had 6 hundredths advantage on the tree but Rob was past him at 60ft & stayed ahead taking the win by 5 hundredths at the stripe 9.79/134mph. to Dave's 9.90/134mph.

 OA82 Richard Colby v  OA70  Mark Bracking

This one was Richard all the way. Left first & never looked back 8.90/141mph. To Marks 10.47/129mph.

Semi-Finals

OA1 Paul Wright   v   OA5 Rob Stone

This was an eventful pairing Rob couldn't hold his car in stage & rolled trough, Paul saw the red light but launched with too may rpm & heading towards the wall knowing he only had to keep it in his lane to win got centred again before applying the power, when the car again darted towards the wall, thinking something was broken Paul lifted & coasted trough  9.55/97mph.

OA82 Richard Colby   -   bye

Richard also had traction problems & had to lift a couple of times running 9.50/143mph good enough for lane choice in the final.

Final

OA82 Richard Colby  v  OA1 Paul Wright

Richard got away first by a large chunk but things were even at 60 ft, both cars struggled with the limited traction available & after numerous pedals & corrections by both drivers Paul came out on top by 3 tenths running 9.17/133mph to Richards 9.71/138mph

Thanks to Santa Pod staff & crew for inviting us & to Paul Venners & the appreciative crowd for spurring us on.
