Eliminations 1st Round

OA19  Paul Hensher   -   bye

Once the rain stopped Monday afternoon time was of a premium, Paul did the decent thing & broke the beams to progress to the next round,

OA5  Rob Stone  v  OA31  Cliff Griffin

Cliff had found some axle damage whilst carrying out maintenance on Saturday & didn't make the call, Rob on a solo 9.46/139mph.

OA84 Dave Sidaway   v  OA271  Chris Kenny

Chris is usually good on the tree & although he got away first his lead wasn't enough to keep his 10.99/119mph in front of Dave's 10.31/130mph.

OA81 Simon Barlow   v   OA86 Barry Woodford

Simon got away first & never looked back winning with a 10.17/132mph over Barry's 12.63/104mph.

Semi-Finals

OA84 Dave Sidaway   v   OA5 Paul Hensher

Paul's quickest pass of the weekend 8.59/158mph saw off Dave's 10.67/124mph.

OA5 Rob Stone    v    OA81 Simon Barlow

The opposite was true for Rob his slowest of the weekend 10.00/130mph meant that Simon went round him to earn a place in his second final in as many weeks 9.63/118mph. There was drama at the top end of the strip when Simon's parachute snagged under his wheelie bars, lifting the rear of the car off the track until gravity deposited the car pointing in the direction of the adjacent field. After a quick trip across the grass Simon & the Orange Pop came to rest unscathed immediately followed by the fire truck.

A late start due to rain meant there was no time to run the final before the track had to close. Special thanks go to the track staff for battling against the weather.
